I remember many years ago choice of fragrances wasn't as versatile as today. Now we have a lot of new brands, fragrances, perfumes, etc... but I think it's more just about the right brand than the right fragrance. People, especially us women, like to say which brand we wear. But, did you ever find yourself standing in crowd, near someone, and think to yourself: “this perfume doesn’t do you right”? And it makes sense. Not every fragrance or perfume is right for you, because it’s all about chemistry, there is a little bit of science involved.

Your body chemistry, your little working molecules in your body, are not same like in your friend. But we all want for others to say that we smell good, nobody wants to be “the smelly one” in group.

It all comes down to histocompatibility complex (MHC). We generally choose our mates with dissimilar MHCs to give our offspring more diverse, therefore stronger immune system. With our smell we advertise our immunogenetic profile to potential mates. Bare that in mind next time when you are picking new fragrance.

Picking the right fragrance involve a little “work”. Spray your top choice of fragrance into the air and smell. Next you want to spray it on your wrist and smell it again in 15 minutes. The third phase is after one hour, if fragrance smell good on you in all three phases, buy it!
